Traynor Turkiewicz - March 5, 2009
Traynor Turkiewicz is a seventeen-year-old grade 12 student who attends St. John’s College and is actively involved in several sports.
He has been playing golf since he was nine years old and has won several awards including the 2005 Mizuno North American Cup Qualifier in grade 8; the St. John’s College golf award in 2005 and he won the 2008 CWOSSA Golf Championships both individual and team.
Traynor has been playing basketball since he was 8 and was a member of the Tri-County Basketball team in 2004 and captain of the St. John’s senior boys basketball team in 2007/08 and again in 2008/09.
He played volleyball all four years in high school, he was captain of the team in grades 11 and 12 and he won the St. John’s volleyball award in grade 9.
Traynor won the 2005/06 Junior Male Athlete of the Year and the 2006/07 Junior Male Athlete of the Year at St. John’s. In January he received the Frank Bricker Memorial Award for Male Youth Leadership.
He is the Student Council President at St. John’s, he participated in the 2008 Mission Trip to Mississippi and he received his school’s Eagle Award for a combination of academic, athletics, and extracurricular activities.
Traynor is a dedicated and hardworking student who has been on the honor roll since grade 9 and currently has a 93% average in grade 12. His biggest goal for the future is to attend the University of Western Ontario, as well as to be pre-accepted into the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western.
