TCO hosts Sport Tourism Strategic Planning Workshop in Brantford
The Tournament Capital of Ontario (TCO) Committee, Brantford Parks & Recreation and the Brantford Sport Council hosted a Sport Tourism Strategic Planning Workshop “From The 40,000 Foot Level” on March 29, 2008 at Mohawk College.

Sport Tourism is recognized as one of the fastest growing sectors of the global travel and tourism industry. In Canada sport tourism is a multi-billion dollar “industry” with value estimated at 2.5 billion dollars annually.
On Friday, March 28 a “Meet and Greet” reception was held at the Tourism Centre to introduce Bob Yates, workshop facilitator from Victoria, B.C. Mr. Yates has over 25 years experience as a strategic planner involved with the economic and social impacts and benefits of sport tourism.
On Saturday, March 29 a one-day interactive workshop was held at Mohawk College bringing together 65 delegates from a variety of organizations and groups who actively participated in discussions about the economic impacts and benefits that sport tourism brings to the City of Brantford.
