Stephen Slezsak -March 27, 2008
Stephen Slezsak is an eighteen-year-old grade 12 student from Assumption College who participates in floor hockey, basketball, swimming, baseball, football and rugby.
He has been actively involved in floor hockey, baseball, basketball and swimming for 7 years; in football for 4 years, and rugby for 2 years.
Stephen has received numerous individual and team awards over the years including a gold medal in floor hockey at the 2008 Nationals held in Quebec and qualified of the 2009 World games that will be held in Bosie Idaho. He helped his basketball team win several gold and silver medals at various tournaments, he won several skills competitions and received the 2006/07 Athlete of the Year award. He also won a number of 1st place awards for baseball.
In swimming Stephen qualified for the 2004 Nationals receiving 4 gold medals, he won 2004/05 Athlete of the Year award, he won gold and silver medals at the 2006 Nationals in Manitoba and in 2007 qualified for the 2008 Provincials that will be held in May.
He helps with the Special Olympics “D” division team and in the future would like to continue his education at College and play varsity football.
