Shane Nagle - October 11, 2001
This week's TCO "Athlete of the Week" is Shane Nagle an OAC student at Pauline Johnson school who has played Junior A roller hockey for the past 2 years. Shane played in the North American Championships in 1999 and was selected to the Canadian All Star team that same year. He competed in the roller hockey World Championships for team Ontario and won the gold medal in the summer of 2000. He also played Bantam AAA hockey in the all-Ontario's in 1998 and 1999 and played Junior C hockey for both Woodstock and Paris for the past 2 years. Shane also competes in track & field and placed 8th in the 4 x 100 in Ontario, and is currently a corner-back and slot-back for the Pauline Johnson football team. In his spare time Shane volunteers at the YMCA and works at the Y-day camp in the summer. He is a member of the P.J. Student's Council and had an average of 98.2% last year in grade 12. Shane's goal is to pursue a career in medicine.
