Shaina Clements - July 19, 2007
Shaina Clements in an eleven year old grade 5 student at Notre Dame Catholic School who is active in soccer, track and field, basketball, running and dance.
She has been playing soccer for 4 years and rep soccer for 2 years, she plays forward on the Brantford Intercity Soccer Under 11 girls team and competes in several tournaments in South Western Ontario.
Shaina has received the most outstanding soccer player award on several occasions and in 2006 received a soccer tournament player trophy. She also played CYO basketball.
Shaina is very active in track and field and in 2007 she was third overall in the County for cross-country, she was 2 nd in the high jump, 2nd in 200m and 3rd in 400m races. In 2006 she was 1st in the 100m, 2nd in 200m and 2nd in 400m races. She hopes to join the Brantford Track and Field Club to become a competitive runner.
Shaina has been involved in dance for 3 years; in February 2006 she was the Dancer of the Month, and in 2005 and 2006 she achieved certificates in tap and jazz.
She enjoys volunteering in the community and has been involved in Canada Day, Jaycee Santa Clause parade, St. George parade, Burford parade and helps at a variety of school events.
Shaina is a dedicated student who works hard at school to maintain a B average in most of her subjects; she plans to stay active in sports and in the future hopes to earn an athletic scholarship.
