Sam Eley - July 30, 2009
Sam Eley is a fifteen-year-old grade 10 student from Assumption College who has been actively involved in cheerleading for 1 year, martial arts for 8 years, rugby for 1 year, CYO basketball for 5 years, and softball for 1 year.
She was the MVP Rookie Cheerleader in 2009; she received numerous track awards from 2004 to 2009 including the Female Athlete of the Year. She also received several 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Martial Arts trophies from 2005 to 2007.
Sam volunteered at the Agnes Hodge School Fun Fair, the ABBA System's Christmas party, and at the Assumption College Relay for Life.
She is a dedicated and hardworking student who achieved high marks in grade 9, her favourite subject is science in particular biology and she wants to continue playing a variety of sports throughout high school.
During the summer she enjoys water sports including windsurfing, kayaking, canoeing and sailing. She also likes rock-climbing. Sam enjoys being involved in anything art-related and has been playing the guitar for almost a year.
In the future she hopes to attend the University of Guelph, study Veterinary Medicine and play varsity sports.
