Rikki Lee Dawson - October 26, 2006
Rikki Lee Dawson is a grade 10 student at Brantford Collegiate Institute who participates in several sports including cross-country, track, volleyball, basketball, and rugby. She also enjoys white water kayaking, canoeing and participated in soccer and dance for several years.
She has been involved in basketball for 10 years, cross-country for 7 years, track & field for 6 years, volleyball for 5 years, and rugby for 1 year.
Rikki Lee received the 3 D award for volleyball at her grade 9 athletic banquet; she finished in 1st place in the 800m at BCSSA, and received the coaches award in grade 8.
In 2004 she traveled to Cleveland Ohio to participate in the International Childrens Games running in the 800m race. She volunteered at the Ontario Pioneer Camp for two weeks during the summer, and completed a 4-week woodland challenge program at the Ontario Pioneer Camp, which included a 10-day canoe trip on the Dumoine River in Quebec that involved running class 3 rapids.
Rikki Lee is a hardworking student who was on the honor role in grade 9 and plans to maintain good marks in order to achieve her goal of attending University after graduating high school.
She hopes to run as many Canadian rivers that she can in her kayak and would like to run cross-country at University and stay active throughout her life.
