Olivia Elliott - August 21, 2008
Olivia Elliott is a seventeen-year-old graduate of North Park Collegiate who has been actively involved in several sports including gymnastics and soccer for 12 years, swimming for 3 years, and both diving and tennis for 2 years.
Olivia has received numerous team and individual awards throughout the years in a variety of sports. In 2006 she participated at OFSAA on the Junior Girls Medley Relay Swim Team; in 2007 she was the Female MVP and her team finished in 1st place at the District 10 Junior Girls Freestyle and they finished in 2nd place for the Medley Relay. In 2008 her team was District 10 Team Champions and they finished 2nd at CWOSSA.
Olivia’s rep. soccer team won the 2005 Ancaster Heritage Days Tournaments Under-14 Select Championships and the 2007 Under-16 Rep Championships. They finished in 1st place at the 2007 Sahlen's Sports Park Indoor Tournament, and were champions at the 2006 Hamilton Sportsworld Indoor Tournament, which qualified them for the 2007 National Indoor Championships in Virginia.
She placed 5th at the Women's B Level 2 Tier II Provincial Diving Championships and participated in the 2006 Ontario Winter Games. She helped her high school tennis team win the 2006 BCSSAA Junior Team Championships and was 2nd in the Girls Doubles.
In 2007 the senior team finished 2nd at BCSSAA.
Her gymnastics team won the CWOSSA Team Championships from 2005 to 2008; they won the OFSAA Level 4 Team Champions in 2007 and in grade 11 she finished 4th on beams and 6th on bars at OFSAA. In 2007 she was the CWOSSA Level 4 Beam Champion and the Brant County Team Champions in 2006 and 2007. She also received the Female Athlete of the Year award at her school’s athletic banquet.
Olivia volunteers as a Sunday school teacher and vacation Bible School Leader at St. Mark's Anglican Church. She was a member of her school’s Student Voice Group, the Green It Up! Environmental Club, the Senior Band, Stage Band, Brass Ensemble, and Choir. She was also a referee, scorekeeper and timer at Central Baptist Academy sports tournaments, and a referee at many Brant County Elementary School soccer tournaments.
Olivia finished her Bronze Cross and plans to complete her National Lifeguard Service and Swim Instructor certification in the near future. She successfully completed her grade 9 voice exam in June and recently completed her grade 9 piano exam. She has been a participant in the Brantford Kiwanis Music Festival since she was eight years old, and was awarded the Muriel King Memorial Trophy for Classical Voice this year.
Olivia graduated with a 96.5 average and will be studying music at the University of Western Ontario beginning in September. She hopes to complete an honours degree in music education and possibly a double major in accounting. She also wants to continue to be active by trying a variety of new sports and other activities offered at university.
