Michelle Zareski - July 16, 2009
Michelle Zareski is a fifteen-year-old grade 10 student from Assumption College who has been involved in soccer for 10 years, volleyball for 2 years and track and field for 5 years.
She is a member of the Brantford Intercity Soccer under 15 girls team and was a member of the Brantford Gymnastics Academy. Over the past 9 years she has competed at numerous provincial events and won the Most Dynamic Vault award at the 2007 Championships.
Michelle competed at OFSSA regionals in the high jump, long jump and 4 x 1 relay. She placed 6th in the high jump, 5th in the long jump and 6th in the relay.
She received the 2008 Track Athlete of the Year award in grade 8 and won the Track Athlete of the Year award again in grade 9. She was the 2008 Athlete of the Year in grade 8 and won the Athlete of the Year again in grade 9.
Michelle has been a gymnastics coach for the past year and hopes to continue coaching young athletes throughout high school.
She is a dedicated and hardworking student who achieves high marks. In the future she wants to continue her education at University and pursue a career as an elementary school teacher.
Michelle hopes to continue playing soccer, track and field and volleyball and one day coach gymnastics at a high level and become a soccer coach.
