Michael Bijman - April 16, 2009
Michael Bijman is a seventeen-year-old grade 12 student from St. John’s College who is active in several sports including basketball, soccer, cross-country and tennis.
He played basketball for SJC in grades 9 to 12 helping his teams win the 2005/06 BCSAA Midget Championships, the 2006/07 BCSAA Junior runner-up; the 2007/08 BCSAA Senior runner-up, the CWOSSA Championships and represented Brantford at OFSAA. They won the 2008/09 BCSAA Senior Championships and were CWOSSA runner-ups. He played CYO basketball for 8 years receiving an MVP award and several tournament accolades.
Michael played soccer for SJC in grades 9 to 12 and attended the Hamilton Spectator Cup soccer tournament All-star Showcase game in 2008. He played rep soccer with the Brantford Intercity Soccer League for 10 years.
He received the 2007 Senior Male Cross Country award and was the 2006 BCSAA Junior Doubles Tennis Champion.
Michael was a volunteer on two school Mission Trips participating with other students from SJC and Assumption. They traveled to Mississippi in April 2008 and Louisiana in November 2008. He also volunteered at the North Park summer basketball camp.
He is a dedicated and hardworking student who maintains an 82% average and hopes to continue his education by attending university to study kinesiology.
