Megan Grantham - March 25, 2004
This week's TCO "Athlete of the Week" is Megan Grantham an 18 year-old grade 13 student who currently attends Paris District High School and is a former student of Burford District High. Megan is very active in sports and has achieved many personal goals over the years.
In 2000/2001 she received an MVP award for both junior and senior basketball; in 1999/2000 she received the most improved player award for junior volleyball; in 2000/2001 she received the outstanding player award in senior volleyball; she was a member of the All Star basketball team in 2003 and received the Coaches Award.
Megan is also a member of her school's soccer team and cross-country team and has been involved in the Norfolk Nets basketball program for the past 3 years in both rep. and house league. She is a member of the Athletic Council and received her gold letter A at Paris District High School.
Megan still finds time to volunteer with the Scotland Optimist's Club; helps children at the Oakland/Scotland public school and is a scorekeeper for the Norfolk Nets. This well-rounded athlete is also a dedicated student who achieved an 82% average in 2003.
Megan's goal is to attend Waterloo University in the fall enrolling in a Kinesiology program and pursue a career as a physiotherapist.
