Marc Muise - October 1, 2009
Marc Muise is a fifteen-year-old grade 10 student from North Park Collegiate who has been actively involved in competitive swimming since he was 8 years old and is a member of the Brantford Aquatic Club and the North Park swim team.
In December 2006 he won the boys 1995 /1994 high point award at the Pointe Claire Invitational swim meet and in March 2008 he won a silver medal in the 50 free at Short Course Junior Provincials for 13-year-old boys.
In 2008 he received the Brantford Aquatic Club’s Gordon E. Prime award, awarded to the junior swimmer that takes no short cuts, shows dedication, perseverance, and enthusiasm.
In March 2009 Marc won a bronze medal in the 100 free at Short Course Junior Provincials for 14-year-old boys and set the club record in this event. And in July 2009 he won the 400 free at the Long Course Jr. Provincials for 15-year-old boys; was second for boys 14 and 15 years old in the 3k lake swim at the Provincial Open Water Championships; and participated in the Canadian Age Group Championships where he won a bronze medal in the 5k lake swim for boys 15 year old.
Marc volunteered weekly at the Brantford General from September 2008 to August 2009. He also helps as a timer at various swim meets.
He is a dedicated and hardworking student who achieved a 90% average in grade 9. In the future Marc plans on continuing his education at university, studying health sciences and swim at an international level throughout university.
