Madison Parks - May 14, 2009
Madison Parks is a fifteen-year-old grade 10 student from Assumption College who excels at wrestling and participates in track & field, and cross-country.
Madison has received several notable wrestling awards including a 1st place at the 2008 District Championships, 1st place at the 2008 BCSSA Championships and 1st place at 2088 CWOSSA Championships in the 47.5 kg female class. She won the 2009 Ontario Provincial Wrestling Championships in the 46 kg female class; she was 1st at the 2009 District Wrestling Championships and 1st at the 2009 BCSSA Championships in the 47.5 kg female class. She finished 2nd at the 2009 CWOSSA Wrestling Championships in the 47.5 kg class; she was the 2009 OFSSA Female Wrestling Champion in the 47.5 kg female class, and was 2nd at the 2009 Cadet National Wrestling Championships in the 49 kg female class.
At the 2009 District Track and Field Championships she was 1st in the javlin, 2nd in the long jump, 2nd in the triple jump, and will be competing at BCSSA in all three events.
Madison is a dedicated and hardworking student who maintains marks in the 80’s and 90’s and has helped coach the Agnes Hodge wrestling team for the past two years.
She won at the Canada Summer Games Wrestling Trials for the 46 kg female class; the Games will be held at end of August in PEI.
In the future Madison hopes to become a teacher and try out for the Olympic female wrestling team in 4 years.
