Kendra Vanleeuwen - February 4, 2010
Kendra Vanleeuwen is an eleven year old grade 6 student from Ryerson Heights School who has been involved in a variety of sports including track and field, soccer, basketball and swimming.
In 2007, Kendra was 1st in her age group in the Brantford Classic run while in 2009 she was 2nd out of 116 runners in her age group in a time of 23:29.
Kendra played Brantford Intercity Soccer rep soccer for 3 years and Brantford Youth Soccer for 1 year. She has been most successful in basketball helping her CYO Novice team win a silver medal in 2007 and was awarded the Hustle Award at the Provincial Championships.
In 2008, she was a member of the CYO Atom team that won Provincial gold and in 2009 she was a member of the CYO Major Atom team that placed 4th overall in the Provincial Championships.
This past summer Kendra played on the bantam development team for Tri-County and despite playing against players up to 2 years older than her, she was named an alternate tor the top twenty camp.
Kendra is a dedicated and hardworking student who maintains good marks. She enjoys all outdoor activities, working with animals, and spending time with her family.
