Kaiden Bowers - August 7, 2008
Kaiden Bowers is a sixteen-year-old grade 12 student from Assumption College who has been actively involved in several sports including baseball, hockey, basketball, volleyball and golf.
He is the starting catcher for the 18 and Under Welland Bulletproof Elite baseball team; he played for the Brantford Red Sox AAA team from 2001 to 2007 and was part of the Intercounty All Star Team that won the silver medal at the Ontario games in 2006.
Kaiden has played defense for 7 years with the Brantford AAA 99 ers from 2001 to 2008 and played for his high school hockey teams in grades 9, 10 and 11 winning the Brant County Championships in 2006 and 2008.
He played AAA basketball from 2002 to 2004 and was a member of his high school basketball teams in grades 9 and 10. He also played high school volleyball in grades 9, 10 and 11 and was the 2005 Jr. Boys Golf Club Champion at Arrowdale.
Kaiden has received several individual awards including the 2005 Athlete of the Year award in grade 8 at Brier Park Public School and the Principal’s Leadership award. In grade 10 he received the Assumption College 2007 Junior Athlete of the Year award with MVP’s in volleyball and basketball, and in grade 11 he won the 2008 Senior Boys Athlete of the Year award with MVP in baseball.
Kaiden occasionally assists the pitchers and catchers for the Brantford Red Sox Minor Pee Wee rep team, and is a level 2 referee for the Alliance Hockey of Ontario, and is timekeeper for Grand River Referees Association.
He is a dedicated and hardworking honor roll student who intends to further his education by attending a university in Canada or the US and continue playing baseball at an elite level.
