Justin Conlon - July 17, 2008
Justin Conlon is a seventeen-year-old student from Paris District High School who has been actively involved in track and field for 7 years; cross-country for 3 years; badminton for 5 years; wrestling for 2 years, and rugby for 2 years.
Justin has achieved several individual and team awards at high school including the PDHS Track Warrior Award in 2006; his team won the 2007 Track & Field County Championships; they competed at CWOSSA in 2006, ’07, ’08 and competed at the 2008 OFSSA West Regional.
He received the 2005 Cross Country Team MVP award; his team was the 2007 Team County Champions and they competed at OFSSA in 2006. His wrestling team was the 2008 County Champions and they won the 2008 CWOSSA Regional Championships.
Since attending high school Justin has been involved in high jump events at seven track meets and has written and received a Certificate of Distinction in the Gauss, Pascal, Gayley and Fermat mathematics competitions. He is planning to join the Athletic Committee in the fall; he looks forward to running interschool activities and has been nominated as co-captain of the Wresting team next season. He also enjoys helping elderly neighbors in a variety of ways to acquire his community service.
Justin will be entering grade 12 in September and will be focusing on his grades in preparation for University. His favourite subjects are mathematics of any kind, physics, chemistry and computer science. He is planning on becoming a member of the Brantford Track and Field team and participating in a half Marathon in Oakville this September.
Justin hopes to attend the University of Waterloo to study mathematics and computer science. His athletic goals include competing in the high jump at the University level and one day run full Marathons.
