Evan Lake - June 12, 2008
Evan Lake is a twelve-year-old grade 7 student from Russell Reid Coronation School who participates in baseball, track and field, football, basketball and hockey.
He has been actively involved in baseball for 4 years; track and field for 3 years; football for 2 years; basketball for 1 year, and hockey for most of his life.
Evan has been on the championship team for 2 years in a row with the Brantford Minor Baseball league. He is a member of the Crown Printing baseball team who is a pitcher and shortstop.
Evan has received numerous ribbons for track and field most recently winning 5 track events. He was 1st place in the 200m and 400m races; he finished 1st in the triple jump and won 2 second place awards in the 100m and 800 meter races.
Evan is actively involved at his school helping after class and during recess. He volunteers with his sister at fundraising events for the Brantford SPCA and volunteers for the Heart and Stroke through his school’s hoops program and participates in the Brantford Classic run.
Evan is a dedicated and hardworking student who has achieved excellent marks this year. In the future he hopes to finish high school, continue his education at University and become a major league baseball player.
