Erinn Bailey - December 4, 2003
The Tournament Capital of Ontario "Athlete of the Week" is Erinn Bailey, a 13-year-old Grade 8 student at St. George School.
Erinn is a kart racer and has been a member of the Hamilton Kart Club for the past two years. She is the first female to have won the 2003 points championship at the Cameron Motors Speedway in the mini-indy series. Erinn was also successful in winning the points championship at Ohsweken Speedway in the micro-sprint junior division.
Erinn earned a mid-season gold medal during 2003 and also garnered the Thanksgiving Day Travis' Battle trophy race at Cameron Motors Speedway in the mini-indy series. During the 2002 season, this terrific girl was also the mid-season bronze medalist in the mini-indy series, and ended the season fourth in points.
Her plans for next karting season are to race in the mini-stock division at Ohsweken Speedway. One of her personal goals is to become a NASCAR driver. However, because of her love of animals, becoming a veterinarian assistant is also a particular aspiration. In fact, Erinn has taken horseback riding lessons for six years.
This athlete has also participated in sports at school, playing softball, co-ed flag football, and slo-pitch. Erinn also regularly volunteers at the St. George Santa Clause Parade, and this year was in the parade on a float with her car.
Congratulations Erinn. |
