Erin Kuwabara - July 26, 2001
This week's TCO "Athlete of the Week" is Erin Kuwabara a member of the Brantford Track & Field Club. Erin is 8 years old and after her first season with the Club won the 2000 Outstanding Minor Girls award for ages 13 and under. In June 2001, she won the Provincial Championships in 800 metres girls mite division, was 2nd in 400 metres, and moved up to tyke for the medley relay where her team placed 3rd. In July 2001, she won 1st for 800 metres, 1st for 200 metres, and 2nd for 60 metre hurdles. Erin also competes in cross-country events and in 2000 placed 4th at the Ontario Provincial Championships and 4th at the Canadian cross-country Championships in the mite division. Erin also enjoys ballet, swimming, soccer, and choir lessons.
