Erika Polidori - September 19, 2002
The Tournament Capital of Ontario "Athlete of the Week" is Erika Polidori a grade 5 student from Our Lady of Providence School who participates in softball and fast-pitch. This season Erika played house league in the squirt division and helped her team win the championships.
She also played in the 2002 Ontario Provincial Women's Fast-pitch Championships where she led her team to win a bronze medal. She was the catcher for all 5 games and had a batting average of .635 with 3 home runs and 12 RBI's.
Erika joined the Paris Rocks Novice Ringette squad and helped them earn a silver medal in the 2002 Regional Championships by scoring 15 goals in 4 games. She also competed in her first Track & Field competition in 2002 and advanced to the County finals in the 100m and 200m sprints.
Erika is 10 years old and has been studying piano at the Ontario Conservatory of Music for 1½ years, she has been involved with Guiding Canada since age 5 as a Spark, Brownie and Girl Guide and has been an A student since grade one.
Erika is described by her coach, as an exceptional athlete who excels in all aspects of the game and demonstrates strong leadership qualities.
