Erica Bailey - October 18, 2007
Erica Bailey is a fifteen-year-old grade 11 student from Paris District High School who participates in several sports including baseball, volleyball, basketball and track and field.
Erica has been actively involved in baseball for 9 years and is a member of the PDHS softball team. She started playing volleyball in grade 7 and is on her school’s volleyball team.
Erica has been involved in track and field since grade 4 and is a member of her school’s track team participating in the 100m sprint, javelin, triple jump and the all girls relay. She also played basketball for the PDHS junior team in grade 10.
Erica is a member of the Brantford Bobcats AAA Baseball team who participated in the Provincial Championships this past summer finishing 1st in Ontario. Her team competed at the 2007 Nationals held in Montreal, and finished 4 th in Canada.
In 2006 Erica won the MVP Baseball Award for her school team; in 2007 she won an MVP Baseball award for a game at the Nationals against a BC team and she helped her team win a gold medal at the Provincials this past summer. She also participated at the CWOSSA 2007 Track and Field meet on the junior girls relay team.
Erica volunteers at volleyball tournaments; she was involved with her school’s Relay for Life, the PDHS prom and received a Spirit Award in grade nine.
Erica is a dedicated and hard working student who maintains a 70% average; she hopes to get a baseball scholarship and continue her education at college in British Columbia or Florida.
