Elaine Harrison - June 14, 2001
This week's TCO "Athlete of the Week" is Elaine Harrison a grade 8 student at the W. Ross Macdonald School, she is a member of the Brantford Aquatic Club and trains at WRMS. Elaine has been on the swim team for 2 years and 2001 is her first year as a competitive swimmer. She won 5 gold medals and set 5 new records at the 2001 Windsor Classic Indoor Games. Elaine qualified for the 2001 USA Disability Nationals in Phoenix, Arizona this June and the 2001 Canadian Nationals for SWAD's in Winnipeg this July. She recently achieveed her personal goal of making the Ontario Swim Team for the 2001 Canada Summer Games, this August in London. Elaine was the top point scorer for female swimmers with a disability at the trials. She is also a straight A student and has a real passion for music.
