Don Bryson - September 20, 2001
This week's TCO "Athlete of the Week" is Don Bryson, a grade 12 student from BCI, who is a member of the Brantford Golf and Country Club and is currently the Junior Club Champion, Men?s Club Champion and a proud recipient of the new R.B. Forbes trophy. Don has won first place medals in three Ontario Golf Association events was ranked in the top ten Provincially and has been a member of the OGA Team for the last two seasons. In 1999, he won the Canadian Junior Golf Association Tour Championship. 2001 has been a very successful year for this 16 year-old, who has not only won the Junior and Men?s BG&CC titles but finished third in the Ontario Juvenile Championships one stroke
behind the leaders, and set a course record in the RCGA Future Links in Saskatchewan by shooting 8 under par 64. Don earned a spot on the Provincial team and is a fully exempt status player for the 2002 OGA tournament schedule. He also maintains an ?A? average in high school and with his commitment to the sport his goal is to pursue a scholarship to play college golf.
