David Finkelstein - June 27, 2002
The Tournament Capital of Ontario "Athlete of the Week" is David Finkelstein a 15 year-old grade 9 student from North Park Collegiate whose passion is for golf. David's first year on the Golf Scene Junior Tour was in 2001 where he finished 2nd and achieved his personal best long drive while playing at the Mayfield Golf Club. David was mentioned in the 2001 September issue of the Gold Scene magazine by tournament organizers, as a golfer to be watched in the future.
David has been strong in the early part of this season boasting a 7 handicap and has placed in the top 3 positions, in four scheduled rounds, at a variety of golf courses throughout South Western Ontario. David trains at Northridge Golf Course and has been coached by Pro David Main for the past two years.
David is an active curler and competes at the Brant Curling Club, and enjoyed playing four years of football in the Brantford Flag Football league.
