Daniel Weagle - March 01, 2007
Daniel Weagle is a nine-year-old grade 4 student at Resurrection School who participates in a variety of sports including baseball, karate, hockey, soccer, basketball, and downhill skiing.
Daniel has been involved on a rep. baseball team in the Brantford Red Sox Mosquito division for three years. He placed 3 rd in Canada at the Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit and Run contest, and in 2005 his team won the Greater Niagara Baseball Association Championships.
In 2002 he received the Karate Student of the Year award, he finished 1st in Kata and Sparring at the 2004 Ontario Traditional Karate Challenge, and placed 2 nd in Kata and Sparring at the 2005 Ontario Provincial Open Martial Arts Championships. He earned his red belt in 2006 and will be grading for his Jr. Black Belt in 2007.
Daniel has been playing hockey with the Brantford Minor Hockey Association since 2003, he helped his team become the Arnold Anderson tournament Tyke finalists in 2003/04, and currently plays in the Atom division.
Daniel has also played CYO basketball and received the 2006 League Convenors MVP award. He played soccer from 2001 to 2004, has been an avid downhill skier since he was 2 years old and obtained his Level 8 in ski instruction.
Daniel is a dedicated and hardworking student who won the 2004 Primary School Public Speaking award and maintains an A average. He has been an alter server at St. Pius Church since 2005.
Daniel hopes to obtain a sport scholarship in the future and pursue a career in professional sports or become a sports doctor.
