Courtney Irvine - January 11, 2007
Courtney Irvine is a 16-year-old grade 11 student from Paris District High School (PDHS) who participates in several sports including figure skating, tennis, volleyball, track and field and recreational snowboarding.
Courtney has been involved in skating for twelve years working to complete gold dances, she completed silver interpretive, junior silver skills, senior bronze freeskate and competes in recreational competitions each year.
She has been playing tennis for 9 years and won the BCSSA girls doubles championships in 2004, 2005 and 2006 and competed at CWOSSA in 2006.
Courtney has been participating in track and field for 7 years, competing at the BCSSA, and CWOSSA track and field championships in 2005 and at the BCSSA, CWOSSA and OFSAA regionals in 2004.
She has been playing volleyball since grade 5 and was a member of the PDHS team that won the Brant County Volleyball Championship in 2005 and 2006. She enjoys recreational snowboarding and has been involved for the past 5 years.
Courtney is a member of her school’s year book committee, she was a Team Leader at her school’s Relay for Life in 2006, she was a helper at the South Dumfries Tennis Camp in 2005, and was a program assistant for the South Dumfries Figure Skating Club from 2001 to 2005.
She is a dedicated and hardworking student who excels academically. She was first overall in grade 10 winning the grade 10 science award. She has been on the honor role since grade 7 and recently achieved a 92% average at midterm.
In the future Courtney is planning to complete all gold tests in figure skating, she hopes to place in the top 3 at CWOSSA next year in tennis, she would like to be part of the Disney on Ice tour group and eventually plans to further her education at University.
