Cory Currie - November 8, 2001
This week's TCO "Athlete of the Week" is Cory Currie a grade 8 student from Ryerson Middle School and a member of the Brantford Track & Field Club. Last season Cory won gold in the 1500m and 800m at the Brant County Championships and this summer ran in several 5k and 10k races and was successful on Mother's Day by winning a 5k race with a time of 18:16. Cory is a member of Ryerson's baseball and soccer teams where both teams were successful in winning gold at the Brant County Championships. He also participated in the Terry Fox Run where his school won the Dream Team Challenge with the most participants out of all the schools. Cory is a 14 year-old who also enjoys
playing hockey, hopes to make his school's volleyball team and looks forward to attending B.C.I. next year.
