The Tournament Capital of Ontario "Athlete of the Week" is Casey Ramey a grade 10 student from North Park Collegiate who excels at bowling. Casey has been involved with bowling since she was three years old and in 1997 won the Provincials and continued on to win a gold medal at the Nationals in Sudbury.
In 2000 she went to the Provincials again and then onto the Nationals held in Kitchener, where she placed fourth.
In 2001 and 2002 she again competed at the Provincials and placed second at the Nationals. This season she will compete at the Provincials in March where the first place team will qualify to travel to Regina in May.
Casey qualified for a Youth Challenge competition and traveled to Peterborough where she bowled against teams from all over Southern Ontario; her team finished in 2nd place where she averaged 238 for 6 games. Her team will now be traveling to Edmonton at the end of March to represent Southern Ontario and compete against bowlers from across Canada.
Casey also plays baseball for the Brantford Minor Softball league and has won several trophies and medals over the years. She played on several select teams and hopes to play for the Brantford Lady Red Socks this year.
Casey has been involved with several teams at North Park including volleyball, basketball, baseball, and badminton. She competed in tap and jazz for many years and has won numerous awards. Casey?s personal goal is to one day work with children.
