Cameron Dailey - March 30, 2006
Cameron 'Bam Bam' Dailey is an energetic and focused 17 year old who participates in a number of sports, with his favourites being soccer and hockey. Although he is very athletic his academics are still very important to him, he is an exceptional student who is learning to become a tradesperson.
Cameron was five years old when he started playing soccer with the Brantford Youth Soccer League. His position was defense but through the years he has proven to become valuable in a number of positions. In 1996 Cameron started playing select soccer and joined a travel team. He played on both the Brier Park elementary school team and is currently playing for the North Park Collegiate team. Cameron has helped a number of his house league teams win championships and in 2005 he helped his select team win the Stratford Festival Cup and the 14th annual Boys Under 18 Select tournament. Cameron says that soccer is his favorite sport.
Cameron was 10 years old when he began playing his second favourite sport ice hockey. He played with the Brantford Minor Hockey Association for four years in house league and when he turned 14 he decided to try out for and made the Brantford 99ers A Rep team. When he turned 16 Cameron joined the Brantford Youth Hockey League and also started to play AAA hockey with the Brantford 99ers travel team. Cameron has been on a number of winning hockey teams and helped his A team win the Caledonia Christmas tournament, twice. He also played for the Brantford Rolling Thunder from 1999 until 2004 contributing to a number of championships and participating in many tournaments.
Cameron also enjoys the game of paintball and has become a seasoned paintballer over the past few years, traveling around southern Ontario participating in tournaments at Cambridge, Princeton and Wasaga Beach.
Cameron enjoys volunteering in the community; he helped at Lobster fest, the Matthew Good band concert, and most recently has been volunteering at Versa Care, socializing with the residents.
Cameron is currently attending North Park Collegiate and is maintaining a high 80 % average and is very focused on becoming a millwright. In the future he plans to attend Mohawk College to further his academics, but still wants to participate in soccer.
Cameron is very grateful for the support he has received from his family and friends over the years, and especially wants to thank his father.
