Caitlin Warren - August 9, 2001
This week's TCO "Athlete of the Week" is Caitlin Warren a 17 year-old who was selected as a member of Team Ontario and will participate at the 2001 Summer Games that begin this weekend in London. She is currently a member of the Guelph Gators midget softball team, plays shortstop, bats .412 and recently helped her team win the Ontario Provincial Women's Softball championships and qualify for the Canadian National Midget Championships in Saskatchewan. Caitlin will enter her OAC year at Pauline Johnson in the fall where she also participates in volleyball, basketball, soccer, rugby, track and field, holds school records in the javelin and shot put and continues to maintain an average of over 90%. Caitlin also excels in hockey and plays centre for the Stoney Creek Junior Sabres where her team won gold at a Mississauga tournament. Caitlin is a level 2 minor hockey referee and works as a summer camp counselor. Her goal is to attend University next year and participate in either softball or hockey.
