Bryan Belisle - November 17, 2005
Bryan Belisle has been playing one of his favourite sports for the past 12 years, and is currently one of the best softball players in the province.
In 2005 Bryan played for the Brantford Heat rep softball team and helped them win the Ontario 'B' Provincial Championships. He was also part of the Newmarket softball team that represented Ontario at the 2005 Eastern Canadian Championships in Fredericton, New Brunswick, where he earned an All-Star Award for being one of the top 10 players at the tournament.
Over the years Bryan has received many MVP awards playing softball, and is working hard to reach his current goal of playing for Team Ontario. His dream for the future is to compete in the World Softball Championships and represent Canada.
Hockey is another one of Bryan's favourite sports and he has been involved with the Brantford Minor Hockey Association (BMHA) for 11 years. In 2005 his hockey team won the BMHA Championships and in 2002 he helped his team win the Provincial Select Championships in Sarnia. Bryan's talent on the ice has been recognized on more than one occasion, and he has received numerous awards and medals over the years.
Bryan is a grade 11 student at St. John's College and is in his third year playing rugby for the Green Eagles. He helped his team finish in second place at the Brant County finals and they then competed at CWOSSA. In 2006 Bryan will be part of the Green Eagles rugby team who are travelling to England during March break, to participate in a rugby tour.
During his spare time Bryan helped out at Lobster Fest and he volunteers at local softball tournaments. Bryan hopes to attend college in the future and is still considering his options.
