Welcome to the City of Brantford’s Brownfields Web site. Here you will be able to find information about brownfield sites in Brantford and initiatives the City is undertaking to redevelop these properties.
The City of Brantford has initiated the Greenwich Mohawk Brownfield Site Redevelopment Project. It is our intent to have this 50 acre site remediated by the private sector, through a competitive 2-part Request for Pre-qualification (RFQ) and Request for Proposal (RFP) process. The Greenwich Mohawk Brownfield Site Redevelopment Project will be carried out in the following two phases:
PHASE 1
Involves the issuance of a RFQ to arrive at a list of proponents that have the capabilities to complete this large-scale project in a manner that meets the objectives of the Brantford community. Phase 1 will culminate in a recommended short list of proponents to be submitted for Council's approval. The successful proponents from Phase 1 will then be invited to participate in Phase 2 of the process.
PHASE 2
Involves the preparation of the RFP document, which will be distributed to the selected proponents for the preparation of detailed submissions. It will also include the evaluation of the submissions received and the preparation of recommendations to Council regarding the proposal to be selected. The City of Brantford will enter into agreements with the successful proponent regarding the remediation and redevelopment of the lands and the transfer of ownership.
CONSULTANTS
The City of Brantford requested proposals from qualified consultants to assist in the development and administration of the RFQ and RFP process for the private sector remediation and redevelopment of the Greenwich Mohawk Brownfield Site.
The following Team of qualified experts have been selected:
Urban and Environmental Management Inc.: Overall project management, community consultation and land use planning expertise.
Watson & Associates Economists Ltd. : Financial expertise for the analysis of proposals and related funding partners.
WeirFoulds LLP: Fairness Monitoring, risk evaluation and management and provision of legal counsel.
Jagger Hims Ltd.: Technical input and analysis of remediation strategy and expertise in the Remediation Action Plan for the Greenwich Mohawk Site. |
