Brinley Ferguson - June 11, 2009
Brinley Ferguson is a sixteen-year-old grade 10 student from North Park Collegiate who became actively involved in house league sports at a young age. Over the years she has participated in hockey, flag football, soccer, basketball, has recently taken up the game of golf and continues to play soccer and basketball on rep. teams.
This past winter, Brinley travelled with the North Park junior girls basketball team to Florida to compete in a tournament and placed in the top five. She recently travelled to Kingston with the Brantford Briers Midget AAA team and won the OBA Championships.
Brinley began playing house league soccer at the age of four with BCRS and moved up to BCSC and is still playing in the league. She started playing house league basketball at the age of seven with Brantford Briers and also excelled at track and field in elementary school.
Brinley participates in several high school sports including basketball, volleyball, badminton and soccer. She was captain of her school’s junior girls basketball team, that placed 2nd at CWOSSA. Her school soccer team just captured first place during the high school matches.
Brinley is involved in many fundraising events and most recently participated in the Relay for Life held at North Park. She is a dedicated and hardworking honour roll student who enjoys science and gym courses.
Brinley plans to continue her education at university pursuing a career in athletics or fitness and wants to stay involved in sports..
