BRANTFORD DAY at Toronto Blue Jays game – another big success!
The Tournament Capital of Ontario (TCO) organized and hosted the 2nd annual BRANTFORD DAY at the Toronto Blue Jays game on Saturday April 5.
367 enthusiastic baseball fans, wearing City of Brantford red t-shirts, traveled to the Rogers Centre on 9 buses to watch an exciting game between the Toronto Blue Jays and World Series Champions the Boston Red Sox.
During a pre-game presentation Paul Godfrey Toronto Blue Jays President, presented a $3,000 cheque to Mayor Mike Hancock, Walter Gretzky, Pat Shewchuk (TCO Coordinator), Brealle Shewchuk and Corra Shewchuk.
Proceeds from the BRANTFORD DAY event will benefit the Sports Facilities Infrastructure Legacy Fund.
Lord Mayor Walter Gretzky and 13-year-old Jaclyn Sless participated in the ceremonial First Pitch of the game while eight other local youth were thrilled to participate in the 7th Inning Stretch, before an audience of 35,238.
