Ashley Williams - June 28, 2001
The Tournament Capital of Ontario "Athlete of the Week" is Ashley Williams a grade 3 student at Lansdowne School where she participates in track. Ashley is currently 9 years old but at the age of 8, after only 4 practices, ran in the Brant County cross-country race and finished 13 out of 147 runners, she was the youngest in her division. Ashley won the 100 meter, 800 meter and 1500 meter races at her school meet and was the youngest member of the school track team to go to the Regional finals where she finished 2nd in the 1500 meters. Ashley also plays soccer and is a member of the Burford figure skating club.
