Angie Capson - April 11, 2002
The Tournament Capital of Ontario "Athlete of the Week" is Angie Capson a 17 year-old grade 12 student from Ancaster High School who is a member of the Brantford Ice Cats midget A hockey team the "Dirty Dozen." Angie plays forward and is in her 10th year with the Brantford Girls Hockey Association.
This season Angie scored 50 points and recently played 15 games in eight days between the Brantford Ice Cats team and her Ancaster Royals school team.
During the 15 games Angie scored the only goal to win the Hamilton Wentworth Girls Division 1 Championship. She then had a hat-trick in a SOSSA semi-final Championship game to win her school a berth to the OFSSA Girls AAA hockey Championships, and also added an overtime goal to send her Brantford Ice Cats team to the Provincial Championships.
Angie is also a catcher for the Ancaster Blizzard midget fastball team and is a power-hitter who once drove in 9 RBI's in a Provincial Regional Qualifer that included a 2-run home run and a grand slam in consecutive at-bats.
Angie also maintains an average of over 90% and hopes to pursue a career in the future as an Emergency Room Physician.
