Allan Stahl - February 16, 2006
Allan Stahl has been playing his favorite sport for the past 12 years and is now one of the best curlers in the province.
Allan's curling career began at the age of seven when he picked up his first rock at the Brant Curling Club. He started in the little rock program moved to bantam and then onto junior. For the past couple of years Allen has been playing in the men's league to help him gain experience and develop his skills on the ice.
This season Allan helped his team from the Dixie Curling Club win the 2006 Pepsi Junior Men's Provincial Championships qualifying them to play at the M&M Meat Shops Canadian Championships in Thunder Bay. At the Toronto Curling Association tournament, he helped his team finish in first place winning a 10-day trip to Switzerland.
He also qualified for the 2005 Ontario Junior Men's Provincials and was a member of the North Park Collegiate curling team who competed at OFSAA in 2004 and 2001.
Allan is a 19-year-old North Park Collegiate graduate and a second year student at Conestoga College who is studying mechanical engineering, robotics and automation. He works hard to maintain his 80+ average and is currently on a four-month work placement in his field.
Allan is pleased with his accomplishments so far and credits much of his success to the extra hours that he has spent training on the ice and traveling all over Ontario to compete at numerous curling bonspiels. He would like to thank his parents, family and special friend Tina for all their support and encouragement.
Allan's goals for the future include winning a Canadian Championships competing at the Worlds and one day making it to the Brier.
Congratulations Allan, and good luck! |
