Alexandria Pulham - September 20, 2007
Alexandria Pulham is a fifteen-year-old grade 10 student from Pauline Johnson Collegiate Vocational School who has been involved in gymnastics for 8 years; she has been playing soccer since she was 4; she started playing school volleyball in grade 6 and has been participating in track and field since grade 4.
In 2005 Alexandria earned a spot on Team Ontario and competed at a 2006 International Gymnix meet in Montreal where she placed 1st overall and helped Team Ontario finish in the top 3. She was named the Competitive Gymnast of the Year in 2005/06 while training with the Grand River Gymmies.
Alexandria has achieved several first over all and first place awards at numerous gymnastics competitions over the past few years and received awards for the biggest swing on bars and for the best distance on vaults.
Alexandria set a new triple jump record for Brant County; she was first in the 400m, first in the triple jump, first in the high jump, was second in the 80m hurdles; she helped her 4 x 100m relay team finish in first place, and was the Brant County midget girls champion.
Alexandria set two new records for the PJ midget girls triple jump and high jump and helped set a new record for the 4 x 400m relay. She was first in
high jump at OFSAA regionals and received a bronze medal at OFSAA for the triple jump.
She was named the girls MVP for track and field in grade 9 and helped the midget girls volleyball team win the BCSAA Championships.
Alexandria is a dedicated and hardworking student who was on the honor role in grade 9 by achieving a 93% average. She trains 16 hours per week in competitive gymnastics and hopes to earn an athletic or academic scholarship in the future.
